What to Look for When Choosing a Space

The coworking market in Singapore is mature — over 200 locations operate across the island. That breadth makes selection harder, not easier. A few reference points worth checking before signing any membership:

Membership flexibility
Month-to-month agreements are standard for hot desks, but dedicated desks and private suites sometimes require 3–12 month terms. Ask about exit clauses and deposit refund timelines.
MRT proximity
A 5-minute walk to a station is the practical threshold. Anything beyond 10 minutes will erode the convenience that coworking is supposed to offer.
Meeting room allocation
Most memberships bundle a fixed number of meeting room hours per month — typically 2–10 hours. Overuse incurs charges of S$30–$80 per hour.
Network reliability
Ask for a speed test on-site. Symmetrical 1 Gbps fibre is common in newer Grade-A buildings; older shophouse conversions may cap at 300 Mbps shared.
Open-plan coworking office space with cubicles
